This video was filmed in Morocco near Ouarzazate I know because me and Yewande are in it.......Well not quite but kinda.
While we were on the way back from the Sahara dessert we had to take a detour because they closed the road to film this video, our Driver Abdul was mad as hell! So we're in the car driving in road behind - squint and you'll see us.

Popped along to the exhibition to have a butchers. Mark aka Mister Batlow aka my bestest friend's art was the best so there might be an ever so slightly bias view to the photos i.e there aren't any photos of anything else! Insa's piece was alright too, but it was too rammed to get a good photo (that's an excuse).

It was a night lubricated by free Gin, Sailor Jerry (most people were more excited about stealing the Sailor Jerry plastic cups than actually drinking the rum), ginger beer and what would be a night without some free Vitamin Water. There was also lots of free sushi, and a grotesque amount of raw fish in the shape of a big Evisu logo like you would expect to see at some corporate function. Met lots of new faces and enjoyed many fleeting conversations. Mainly a good excuse to hang out with my mates.

I loved this exhibition. Its a complete and robust retrospective of German born artist Gerhard Richter. Richter's painting skills are diverse; including photorealism, to his more famous abstract creations of 'dragged paint'. It also provides a chance to see his more unknown clever glass and mirror works. Although inconsistent with his artistic style all his works have the same central theme of capturing or portraying movement.

I decided to take a half day from work on Friday, because after the temperature of Thursday I believed the hype of this late September/early October heat wave. Headed over to Kew Gardens with Yewande for lunch, flowers, sun and natural beauty. I love Kew Gardens, its like a piece of prehistoric beauty was dropped in West London. But it was so hot I fell asleep for an hour woke up in a mad sweat and had to use my socks to wipe my brow. I'm not complaining though.

The WorldWide Festival Sete 2011

Popped over to Sete, in the South of France for Giles Peterson's annual WorldWide Festival. The best DJ's and musicians from around the world descended on a quiet fishing town to party by day and by night to the best music on earth. Beach party followed by parties and live performances in out door theatres by night produced one of the best holidays of my life. There was a constant feel good vibe, everyone was there for the music (oh and the sun, food and laughs).

It's all about Ossie

My daily communte to work, during rush hour lasts about an hour and a half, consisting of a bus ride, followed by the National Express rail and the ever traumatic and chaotic Central Line. As I walk through Mayfair I use the last song I hear to gear myself up. Therefore my song choice is crucial to the outcome of rest of the day. Before, my preferred song was 'Glamorous' by Fergie, embarrassing, but true (I bet now you're questioning where on earth I work). Its not my usual choice of music but for some reason it does the job in getting me on the level, awake, but at the same time calmed from my commute. But as of Monday I have a new song for my Mayfair Morning walk: Tarantula by Ossie--->
Its such a ridiculous tune-I love it amillion. This morning was occupied by deep house after listening to all the big songs on Ossie's soundcloud. AMAZINGLY all of which are available for free download! Maybe one of these will become a morning song for you. I'm obsessed with the song entitled 'Alien'

So I CANNOT WAIT for as his 'Set the tone' EP, released by Hyperdub on MONDAY 20th JUNE! I suggest you keep an eye on this uber talented dude.

A Very British BBQ

Coco and Olmo had a BBQ. The weather was terrible - food was amazing – so much meat – chicken, ribs, chorizo, pork belly, home made chips and dips and more – we were defiant - remaining in the rain getting like 10 umbrellas and making makeshift canopies – until the rain won so we moved it inside.

Tune into Pulse FM

By a slip of a finger, I discovered a 'BANGING' radio station called Pulse FM. It's on frequency 108.00 on FM2. When I heard dubstep early on a Sunday morning I knew I had found a gem, this was followed by uninterrupted garage and house music. It vows to be "London's Number one Dance radio station", streaming 24 hrs a day without adverts! IM SOLD. If you forget your iPod at home like I did this this morning or just love dance music I would advise you to tune in.

I heart Instagram

Instagram is officially my favourite iphone app! Obviously because I love photography, but also because it has great filters and allows me to share photos on FB, twitter, blog straight to tumblr and upload to my flickr at the swipe of a finger. But also because I get so see the world through so many peoples eye-phones (ahahaha, my bad) all over the world. I don't know what they look like, sound like, what they do for a living but I get to share their world though photographs. I particularly love seeing photos from Londoners I don't know but by identifying where/when their photos are taken, I realise we have crossed paths - crazy shit! Like "I was there, but who were you......"

StreetFest 2011 photoboothness

Went down to StreetFest yesterday which was so much fun (Props to Ollie and his crew for a successful positive, no beef event). I especially enjoyed the spoken word stage with so many super passionate expressive poets the most amazing band. But there was also a whole bag of fun to really squeeze every pennies worth out of your ten queens heads, I list: live music, photobooth, live graffiti, illustrators, skateboarding, skating and bmx-ing, photobooth, hot food, port-a-loo's, virtual graffiti wall, oh and did I mention they had a free photobooth? I was using my new film camera so photo will follow after exposure, but for now I have the four frames of a couple of the many photobooth moments of the day.

MINI Diana 35mm Multiple exposures

Sorry about the lack of photos lately. Blame my appendix. But I have got a treat for you.
I was given a Mini Diana Lomography camera for Christmas from CDA. The photos below are from it's first EVER use. I was experimenting which means the whole of the film ended up as a continuous double, triple and sometimes quadruple exposure, which is super. But the film developer at Costco's didn't enjoy it so much, because of this most of the photos have been chopped or missing bits - good thing I'm a lover of beautiful accidents. See my favs below.

I've realised my only issue with honesty

Once you are honest with someone, any future action, behaviour or words are influenced by your honesty.

I wish I could just be honest with someone and they would carry one as if they never knew.

Honesty for me is like the fizz in coke; if I inhibit, control or hold in any emotion or thoughts in it builds up inside of me and I feel like a shaken bottle of coke, and eventually the bubbles start to break free, its like I have truth turrets, and no matter how much I try and hold it down it will start to slip out through a number of ways like Freudian slips or small annoying repetitive behaviours- then I'll just start acting plain old weird because I'll be busy internally fighting my natural urges or truths while at the same time double thinking my every move so to contain the honesty urges.

So for my own health of mind if I cant just be honest I have to remove myself because being inhibited is just hard work- its exhausting- its like my mind is an over active screaming child and control is an adult with both hands of its mouth while pinning down its wriggling body with its weight.

Self control and inhibition is not me

But at the same time I just don't like to spoil good vibes or a perfect moment with honesty - but without honesty would that make the very foundation of that perfect moment a lie?

I try and only take special people to my special places but because I'm still ill I decided to visit one of them today and it made me feel great- so I'm going to share my captured happiness with you.

I was better at being a child than I am being an adult

I think it's because I only had 18 years to make the most of child-dome whereas this adult stage goes on forever it's like your virginity once you loose it there's no going back. Unless you count being old a distinction from being an adult, I suppose when your elderly you can plead diminished responsibility then they basically get promoted back to child-dome.

Think about it children and old people can get away with so many things and it's cool cause their old or they're a baby and "don't know any better" I list:

Wetting themselves in public
Not washing themselves
Saying inappropriate things
Stating the obvious (children usually say "I don't like you" old people say stuff like "she's fat")
They don't work

Now as an adult all of the above are frowned upon as antisocial, irresponsible behaviour, but at the beginning and end of life anything goes. So enjoy the bread part of this sandwich we call life cause the meaty filling is fucked.

Movie Review: Norwegian Wood

I went to see Norwegian wood because sometimes you know unknowingly that a movie is for you. I hadn't seen the trailer or heard any reviews I saw the poster guessed it was a foreign film and was well on it. I always said if I had to be another race it would be Japanese because they are so highly sensitive yet ridiculously reserved. They feel love deep, and after watching many Japanese love stories I believe they have no limit for love.

This story is no exception. Its a complex story of the life of a man who experiences the ups downs highs lows and various other painful treats love and relationships provide. Its full on all or nothing viewing. And its Japanese so rather weird too. But life is weird so whateves.

I have been extremely vague because I want you to seee it but don't want to spoil it.
I left the cinema rather bemused and speechless; it touched a nerve for me, reminding me of passed loves, lost love and the deep internal ache of grief.
A Wonderfully beautiful movie, I want to watch all over again.

Now its 4.24am, and I'm not in the US or somewhere far away and exotic in another time zone neither am I just arriving home from a fun night out.

No I have become an insomniac. restless anxious and short tempered and did I mention anxious, all due to my evil new antibiotic friend Clarithromycin.

It started that I couldn't get to sleep, then I couldn't wake up, then waking in the early hours of the morning- and now I'm full blown insomniac.

Its not cool - I'm thinking should I watch another movie? seems as the first one didn't work its not a great idea, humm lay and wait for my brain to get bored- that could never happen my mind is constantly thinking about no less than three things at any one time. Or maybe I should just pretend it's the middle of the day, do some ironing have some food, write a blog. I'm thinking cause its making me act craaazy I should probably limit my interaction with other people....damage limitation. Just so I still have friends when I'm up and well (just an idea).

I have just finished reading the Autobiography of Aaron Bondaroff, it was originally hand-screened by himself onto 100 white t-shirts to form the exhibition 'My Life In T-Shirts'. Later photographs of all the t-shirts are taken and made into 1000 copies of his book. Below being one of them, leant to me by CDA. A-ron as he is best known is hailed as a sort of underground cultural genius also for his super rep, input in the infamous 'Supreme' brand and also founder of the 'aNYthing' brand. Its a great read of downtown living in NYC.

This morning the toilet whispered my name

I woke up this morning and after flushing the toilet it gently whispered my name. I told it to shut up knowing it was just one of the many side effects of the cocktail of drugs I'm currently on for pain relief and infection fighting following my recent appendectomy. I have always had a macabre humour, taking avid enjoyment in the light reading the drug side effect section provides- it makes you question when your symptoms are really worth it.

Currently I have been prescribed the following daily diet:
2 x Paracetamol 4 times a day
2 x Tramadol 4 times a day
1 x Co-amoxiclav 3 times a day
1 x Metronidazole 3 times a day

After reading the side effects of the above drugs I realised that most of what I thought were post-op side effects were just drug induced craziness. My Mum informed me that the highly addictive drug Tramadol was such a drug of choice I could actually make money from my left overs by "selling them at the end of the road"! (good to know).
Please find the fun trip I've been on for the past week:

Co-amoxiclav

a rash on your skin or itching, swelling of your eyelids, lips or face, skin lumps or hives, your skin or the whites of your eyes turn yellow
sudden wheeziness or tightness of the chest or breathing problems
anxiety, confusion, sleepiness or any other mental disturbances
severe diarrhoea or bleeding

Tramadol

Some people may feel sick, tired, sleepy or dizzy. They may vomit or sweat, become fluxed complain of getting a headache, hallucinations, sleep disturbance, nightmares or pins and needles. They may have diarrhoea or constipation or suffer a loss of appetite. These side effects are usually mild and not troublesome. (oh really!!)
When some people stop taking Tramadol capsules they get withdrawal symptoms. They may feel agitated, anxious, nervous or shaky. They may be hyperactive and have difficulty sleeping. these effects usually disappear after a few days.

Metronidazole

stomach pain or upset, feeling sick, diarrhoea, sore mouth, unpleasant taste, dry mouth, furred tongue, and loss of appetite. Very occasional inflammation of the pancreas, indicated by severe pain in the abdomen back, may occur
effects on your nervous system have have been reported very rarely which include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, speech difficulties, difficultly in walking or poor co-ordination, shaking, seeing hearing or feeling things that are not there, confusion, double vision, short sightedness

I'm really greatful to have had this extra time to spend with amazing collection of audio beauty.
