well today like most was interesting but for a reason that was rather disgusting but i feel it brought closure to a certain issue i’ve had in my life
let me break it down!
Today i had a practical called "rats on the roof"
it was for practice in the science of entomology-which is the method of estimating time of death or location of death through analysis of MAGGOTS and other insects
so back to rats on the roof
they killed 10 rats and placed them on the roof for different time periods from 1 week to 3 months
today we had to examine the decomposed body and collect MAGGOTS and preserve them and measure them and stuffs
WELL
Although i am a human anatomist and love pathology and used to do human dissection
I HAVE A BIG ISSUE WITH DEAD ANIMALS
It originates from seeing my dead goldfish floating on the top of the bowl and that distant look in their little beady eyes-then my mum taking me to the toilet to see it sucked away-wow-it still gets me now
don’t get it twisted I aint no tree hugger-i will happily munch my nandoes and rock my Russian real fur hat [non-endangered species of course]
BUT I HATE DEAD ANIMALS!!!
So I wasn’t looking forward to today.
They stunk of FISH it was gross!
I wasn’t touching ANYTHING
but before you knew it I was slicing and dicing!
ONLY THE FRESH ONE THOUGH
the ones that were 3 months old looked like a bunch of grass in mud-with hundreds of maggots
ERGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
but yes im not scared of you anymore u dead animals you!
